This project studies how engineering work is transformed in the face of advanced computational and graphic computer-based design technologies.
Aimed at identifying the factors that predict the success of ICT4D projects in South America, this project features case studies of projects in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Uraguay.
Through case studies in Brazil, India, Mexico, Poland, and the US, this project studies how remote workers learn to do their jobs via ICT.
WHAT I STUDY
I study how people use information technology in their everyday work and what happens when they do. I pay attention to people's interactions with technology as well as the social and organizational context of technology use. I like to think about how occupations are changing in the context of technology use, including who does the work, where they do it, and how they do it.
